OM Ireland's home in the heart of the country

Lacken House is OM Ireland's headquarters in Rahara, Co. Roscommon. When we first heard about the property in 2007, we realised its potential to develop our ministry serving and encouraging Christians across the country. The Lacken House property includes:

• 5 acres of land
• A large office building with space for meeting rooms
• A fully furnished 10-bedroom house
• 4 self-catering chalets
• Another large building with potential for development / refurbishment

A project to raise funds for the purchase of Lacken House was launched in April 2007. By February 2008 OM Ireland had raised sufficient funds to purchase the property (with the help of a number of large loans).

Impact Ireland 2008 was held at Lacken House, with 50 international volunteers staying on site for training and orientation before serving alongside local churches around Ireland.

The majority of OM Ireland team members moved to Roscommon in August 2008, with some living on site and others renting accommodation in nearby Rahara and Roscommon Town. Work to complete the offices was completed in November 2008 and OM Ireland celebrated the Grand Opening of Lacken House on November 22.

During 2009, Lacken House has hosted short term programmes, a range of special events and visitors from across Ireland and all over the world. Lacken House is the base for OM Ireland's new training programme Immersion.
