GLOBAL ACTION is OM 's programme for those looking for 1-2 years (or even just
6 months in some countries) experience of serving God in missions.
There are 100's of opportunities in Global Action, from evangelistic trekking in Nepal, helping start new churches in France, learning to share your faith with Muslims in Lebanon, serving on one of the OM ships…..and much more. The focus is on learning and doing…learning through team training programmes and the experience of serving God. The ‘doing' includes many types of evangelistic ministry (depending on the location) but can also involve practical work, such as working in a ship's engine room or teaching conversational English to students in Asia.
Global Action is a great Gap Year option before university, or for a year out after graduating. Or you can take 1-2 years away from your normal job, maybe to get some mission experience to see whether God is calling you to full-time service longer-term.

GLOBAL SERVICE is for those with specific skills or experience that they want
to use in missions, particularly if they are considering longer-term mission
service.
There's a broad range of opportunities - for teachers, IT and software specialists, book keepers and accountants, church-planters and evangelists, administrators and community workers, anyone with a professional skill the want to use in the context of world mission.
Most of those joining 'Global Service' are more experienced, but we still provide training, especially in language-learning and cross- cultural ministry. We're particularly looking for 'Global Service' staff in some of our offices and for church-planting and community development work in 'restricted access' countries.
