Life Preserver on the shores of Lough Swilly, Co DonegalTransforming lives and communities

Our Purpose: OM Ireland exists to partner with and mobilise Christians to see lives and communities transformed in Ireland and the world.

Take a moment to dream with us. Imagine Christians in Ireland demonstrating and communicating the love of Jesus in this nation and throughout the world. Imagine seeing people's lives transformed and whole communities change for good. Imagine churches in Ireland motivated, equipped and working together to bring about lasting change.

This is the vision that inspires the work of OM Ireland. We want to see individuals and communities reconciled, transformed and mobilised to live and communicate the message of Jesus.

How it began...

OM teams have served in Ireland since the 1970s but OM Ireland itself began in 2002, when Mike Mullins was asked to launch the work.

Big Red Bus in actionMike and his wife Aster, who served with OM Ships for a number of years, had been running the Big Red Bus in Donegal. The bus became a vital part of OM's work as a venue for children's holiday clubs, youth programmes and family events. A small office was opened in Letterkenny and another in Dublin while year-teams worked across Donegal, serving the community.

Hundreds of Irish teens began attending the TeenStreet Germany conference each summer while OM Ireland's own youth conference Beyond 48 (now called Connect) was launched in 2006. Impact Ireland, our short-term summer programmes, attracted volunteers from all over the world to work alongside local churches around the country.

As the vision grew, so did the need for OM Ireland to have its own 'home'. In 2007, God provided Lacken House - 5-acre property complete with accommodation and office space.
